MSHA Surface Training
Even though surface mining doesn’t happen underground, it’s still a dangerous process that has safety standards and mining regulations in place to prevent miners from getting injured.
Hazard prevention should be the top priority for miners, which is why so much of the MSHA surface training course addresses safety. It covers hazards caused by weather, electricity, and equipment, accident prevention, and first aid. The course also covers operational lines of authority and miners’ rights so you can know what to expect in the workplace.
Certificate Issuance: To receive a certificate showing you completed your course, you’ll need to finish all 15 learning modules and pass exams with a score of 80% or higher. You’ll be able to print the certificate to present to your employer.

MSHA New Miner Training Online
The MSHA new miner training is similar to the MSHA surface training requirements. It encompasses the basics of safety protocols and miners’ rights, just like the other training program. Both are eight-hour courses that will expire after two years.
The difference with new miner training is that you need 24 hours of training credit to complete it. The course OSHA Pros offers will only cover eight hours, but new miners must receive 16 hours of training from their employer. This training will cover occupational health and safety and will be specialized in their field of work.
OSHA Pros is here to help you with all your MSHA surface training needs. You can easily access our courses online and complete them at your own pace.
