Are You A New Entrant Or Not

NYC SST Training for Workers & for New EntrantsThis is a question that most new entrants to the construction industry in New York City ask about. If you started work on a construction site in NYC after December 1, 2019, you are considered a new entrant to the industry.

As such you need to go through a 40-hour course of instruction that includes you first getting the OSHA 10 card, followed up with an additional 30 hours of online course instruction.

This is the standard going forward as new people enter the construction industry in NYC.
Others who have been employed before the above date have a different set of information that they need to be sure to take. The amount of time is the same as for new entrants – 40 hours – however, this is broken up a bit differently.

Finally, in some cases, a worker has already taken the 30 hours of OSHA outreach training in construction, but they still need the additional 10 hours related to fall prevention as well as drug and alcohol awareness, and we have a separate course just for these 10 hours.
