Are You A New Entrant Or Not

NYC SST Training for Workers & for New EntrantsThis is a question that most new entrants to the construction industry in New York City ask about. If you started work on a construction site in NYC after December 1, 2019, you are considered a new entrant to the industry.

As such you need to go through a 40-hour course of instruction that includes you first getting the OSHA 10 card, followed up with an additional 30 hours of online course instruction.

This is the standard going forward as new people enter the construction industry in NYC.
Others who have been employed before the above date have a different set of information that they need to be sure to take. The amount of time is the same as for new entrants – 40 hours – however, this is broken up a bit differently.

Finally, in some cases, a worker has already taken the 30 hours of OSHA outreach training in construction, but they still need the additional 10 hours related to fall prevention as well as drug and alcohol awareness, and we have a separate course just for these 10 hours.

Why Do They Use OSHA Pros for Training?

Both the NYC SST Training for workers as well as the NYC SST Training for new entrants have the benefit of being able to be taken 100% online as courses. This eliminates the need for workers to attend a classroom setting for this information.

Workers can access this information whenever they have the time for it and can do so nearly anywhere that they desire. This makes it possible to complete the necessary coursework faster or to accommodate schedule changes easily to ensure that all workers receive the necessary training.

Being safe on a construction site is very important. There is heavy equipment being used, loads being lifted, and generally a lot of activity going on. These NYC SST Trainings for workers and new entrants from NYC, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and the surrounding areas are designed to help bring workers up to speed on important information to keep them as well as others safe in the work environment.

Talk with our team at OSHA Pros today to get your course lined up so you can continue working while being safe.
