NYC SST Training for New Entrants
If you started working in New York City after December 1, 2019, you will be classified as a New Entrant when it comes to construction.
This NYC SST Training for New Entrants features the mandatory 10-hour outreach training that will earn you the official OSHA 10 card and is required before you set foot on any job site in New York City that has a Site Safety Plan.
The remaining 30 hours will need to be completed within 6 months of starting work. Our NYC SST Training for New Entrants covers all 40 hours for your convenience.

If you want to work on construction or demolition sites in New York City, you are required to have site safety training that complies with the NYC Department of Building's requirements if there is a Site Safety Plan for the site. Our SST Training courses provide you with information that meets these requirements and allows those who pass them the ability to work on these job sites.
This Local Law 196 is a requirement that construction workers and supervisors in the five boroughs of New York City receive safety training. This applies to most major worksites throughout the city, including those with a Site Safety Plan and a designated site safety coordinator, site safety manager, or construction supervisor.
Workers and New Entrants must initially pass a Department of Building-approved course that is 40 hours in length. Supervisors must pass a Department of Building-approved course that is 62 hours in length. These SST trainings are valid for a period of five years. Before the expiration of these SST trainings, a mandatory refresher course must be taken which is 8 hours in length. These refresher courses must continue every five years to remain compliant.
Before a course begins an initial verification is done to verify the identity and/or prior training documentation. All cards issued by OSHA Pros will have a QR code that can be scanned to verify a student's eligibility.

- Expiration Date
NYC SST Supervisor Training
Being a supervisor on a New York City job site carries a number of additional things to be aware of because you aren’t just responsible for yourself, you now have several people to direct.
As such the NYC SST Supervisor Training course is the required course for these important individuals.
This training is 62 hours of instruction that includes information on asbestos and lead, pre-task safety meetings, drug and alcohol awareness, protection from sun exposure, and more.
OSHA-Authorized Courses
NYC SST 8 Hour Refresher
Once you have your specific training course – NYC SST Supervisor Training, NYC SST Training for Workers, or NYC SST Training for New Entrants – these SST cards issued are only good for a maximum of five years.
Before these SST cards become invalid, the NYC SST 8-Hour Refresher course is required to be taken and passed. This refresher course will be required every five years to maintain your eligibility to continue to work on job sites in New York City.
