Who Needs SST Training in Brooklyn?
If you’re doing construction work on a major NYC job site, chances are you fall under Local Law 196. That law requires workers and supervisors to complete a certain number of hours in Site Safety Training (SST) to get certified and continue working legally.
If you’re not sure where you fall, this should help:
-
Construction Workers (General laborers, tradespeople): Need at least 40 hours of training.
-
Supervisors (Foremen, site supervisors, safety managers): Need 62 hours of SST training.
-
If you’ve already completed your hours and your SST card is coming up for renewal, you’ll likely need the 8 Hour SST Refresher.
These aren’t just checkboxes. Sites all over Brooklyn, from Bushwick to Red Hook, are being watched closely by the DOB. Having your NYC SST card isn’t optional.
