HAZWOPER certification courses are designed to train employees and supervisors on how to safely and effectively perform their jobs while mitigating the risks of hazardous and toxic materials. You may need HAZWOPER certification training if you are an emergency responder, work in TSDFs, are involved in clean-up of uncontrolled toxic waste, OR work in any other profession where you are vulnerable to coming into contact with hazardous substances.

While the goal of HAZWOPER certification is the same, there are three distinct courses that offer unique, customized certifications and trainings:

• OSHA 24 Hour HAZWOPER Training – This 24-hour training course is ideal for professionals that deal with minimally hazardous materials, under permissible exposure limits (PELs), such as paints, solvents, asbestos, and pesticides.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training – This 40-hour training course is designed to educate professionals that work in conditions above permissible exposure limits, as defined in OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3) standards.
• 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Training – This brief and informative 8-hour course is to be taken yearly as a refresher to both 40 hour and 24 hour courses.
